Sharing Post

My idea is a Sharing Post that would particularly suit apartments or townhouse complexes and provides opportunities for people to share produce. It could be a table with a notice board or even a defunct fridge or bookcase. Residents can leave handmade or home-grown items or even something they have plenty of. This would provide one step in creating a community feeling amongst residents.

Drop in art group + workshops trending idea

Find a suitable space ( like the empty Richardson shops) that could become a thriving arts hub running workshops, drop in art social time/cup of coffee, small exhibition space. My hope would be to acquire a grant to pay someone to facilitate workshops, for example pay a practicing artist to run a workshop with a group of say 10 participants. The group would continue to meet after the workshop, perhaps for several weeks... more »

Myself and others in West Kambah are interested in setting up a place to gather in Kambah to share our skills and harness our energy towards making our suburb more sustainable. A model of suburban sustainability

Local community studies show Kambah has many great social and ecological attributes. This same research shows many people pass through our suburb. While there are also a variety of activities which take place in Kambah, neither those who pass through nor those who undertake local activities, have a location in our suburb where social interconnection readily occurs. If a model sustainable suburb is to be fostered to address... more »

Free tutoring for Kambah Kids trending idea

I propose we allocate a space in Kambah/Tuggeranong to provide free tutoring to children from disadvantaged backgrounds. There could be a combination of specific classes for 30+ and small group and one-to-one. I am a qualified and experienced primary and secondary teacher. I have ideas on how it could operate to cater to a large range of children.

Free workshops by local businesses

Free workshops by local businesses that helps them get their name out and known to the local community, while doing an act of kindness for the people in the local area. For example, if there's a local tax agent, they can do a free 30 min tax seminar that covers basics of Individual Tax Returns, helping out individuals while getting them to know about their business and "pitching" their business to them. Other such workshops... more »

Community Hub/Fair trending idea

it would be great to enlilven the area around the community centre and shops with some sort of community event with local community organisations, artists/crafters, small business owners etc.  The shops tend to be transactional but it would be great to see that area become more of a hub for the suburb, even if only once or more per year.
